about

These compositions were made in May 2005 and have sat in the archive until now. The idea was to mix consumerist and religious themes, and to compare their similarities. Advertisements and religions have a particular way of speaking and way of appealing to a person. They're both guilty of certain levels of manipulation and control.

In addition to these themes, the music itself explores techniques for editing and for presenting these ideas. An easy way of summarizing it would be to call it "funneled chaos." Borrowing ideas from musique concrète and the avant-garde, the ideas plow through from one to another, often never quite finishing a complete thought.

The musical clips were scavenged from the archive itself. Much of that material was written in 2001-02, only to be addressed again (and cut asunder) in 2005. And here we are again, scavenging once more 15 years later.

Enjoy. Repent. Buy. Buy. Buy.
